It’s hard to believe that a whole year has gone by already. I wanted to take a moment, in the midst of all of our busyness to thank you for being part of a community that has brought me such a full spectrum of human experiences this year – warmth, joy, laughter, sadness, tears, love, and immense gratitude for every minute of it.
With everything going on in the world today, from around the globe to our own backyard, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed with emotions of all kinds. I think it’s important in the midst of all of this, to pause, take a breath, and ground ourselves by thinking of something or someone that brings a smile to our face or fills our heart with warmth. It doesn’t have to be a long list. You might think about a special place, your pet, someone who is in your life, or someone who is no longer in your life but still has a place in your heart. Maybe close your eyes, and really envision that person or thing. Notice every detail and allow your heart to fill with feelings of safety, gratitude and love. Take a slow a long inhale, an equally slow and long exhale, and savor how that thought made you feel. Maybe there’s just the slightest difference in your mind, your body, or your heart. Now, open your eyes and go about your day.
With my whole heart I wish you peace, safety, and contentedness this holiday season.
And if you are interested in a little something about the importance of setting boundaries and not overdoing things around the holidays and every day, hop on over to my column on The Three Tomatoes website, Own Your Life, where that is this month’s topic.
Thank you for all you’ve done to make this year remarkable. See you next year!
